The Ibero-American Pharmacometrics Network (RedIF) is proud to announce that it has obtained legal status as a non-profit Civil Association in Uruguay, marking a historic milestone in the development of pharmacometrics in the region.
A New Chapter for Regional Pharmacometrics
Founded in 2017 as a natural association of research groups from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay, RedIF now enters a new phase as a formal scientific society.
This formalization represents a transformative step that will enable RedIF to:
- Establish formal partnerships with academic institutions, pharmaceutical industry, and regulatory agencies
- Manage resources and funding transparently and sustainably
- Offer structured membership programs with clear benefits for the community
- Expand educational and training activities across the region
- Strengthen Ibero-American representation in the international pharmacometrics community

The founding members have elected the following authorities to serve until December 31, 2026:

Reaffirmed Mission
RedIF maintains its mission to promote the advancement of pharmacometrics in Ibero-America through its application in pharmacological research, drug development, therapeutic strategies, and rational use of medicines. The organization remains committed to creating a multidisciplinary framework for education and training of scientists in this discipline.
Looking Ahead
The RedIF Board of Directors is currently developing membership plans that will be communicated to the regional scientific community shortly. These plans aim to make active participation in the network accessible, promoting collaboration among academics, industry professionals, regulators, and clinicians across Ibero-America.
The next major RedIF activity will be the 2026 Congress in Santiago, Chile (November 4-6), which will become the organization’s first international congress under its new legal status.
